The Third State Intellectual Property Forum will be held in the University of Guadalajara’s Auditorium, “Enrique Diaz de Leon”, on Thursday, July 23 with the aim of promoting the registration of trademarks, copyrights, industrial and intellectual property.
Entitled "The Creative Industry trigger for a better cultural and economic environment," the forum will feature experts in the field who will present and open a debate possibility.
"This forum started three years ago as an initiative of the University of Guadalajara and the University UNIVA, it had already been carried out in these universities; the last year’s forum was held at UNIVA; its most important purpose is the promotion and that the public in general gets to know some of the topics, even though there’s a theme in common, each forum has an specific one; anyways other issues that may contribute to the promotion of intellectual property and all sectors that drive are treated”, says Larisa Cruz from the Intellectual property Office Area of the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology. Mexico ranks fifth worldwide in export -related design, music, software applications, creative industries, and is a leader and spearhead in this area in Latin America, hence the importance of treating this topic with specialists in the area.
Jalisco is at the forefront of application and software design, music, theater and other sectors that belong to the creative industry, but we need to promote a culture in Intellectual Property. “Because in the end, Intellectual Property is just a product of innovation, which was the idea when the organization of the forums started; make a university forum where research centers, students and the public in general could participate.
Each year a topic is chosen, we try not to repeat the expositors and this year it will take place in the University of Guadalajara’s Auditorium, a place with great historic and academic value” said the official.
In the Third State Intellectual Property Forum impacting issues such as information technologies, video games, copyrights, creative media production, and the Less Paper trend, the designing and filming industry will be treated.
