In order to publicize four specific measures to take care of biodiversity in Mexico, and specifically in the Upper Gulf of California, the President of the Republic , Enrique Peña Nieto, met with authorities on the subject , entrepreneurs and volunteers on Thursday, April 16 .
The master Victor Vila Velázquez, director and founding partner of Gardhí Vila, attended the meeting where the commitment of the Government of the Republic with the preservation of the environment is endorsed.
The firm Gardhí Vila Lawyers actively involved in the rescue and environmental protection, as part of its commitment with society.
The firm has designated both human resources and material- to advice at no cost to the conservation and preservation of the "Vaquita Marina" in the Upper Gulf of California. This participation is part of Pro Bono Assistance Program.
"Today we are taking specific action to preserve the biodiversity of this region of our country, and especially in this reaffirm the commitment of the Government of the Republic to the preservation of our environment”, said the President of Mexico.
During his speech, Enrique Peña Nieto outlined the four measures to be implemented and applauded the commitment of the institutions involved:

1.-Expand the polygon of protection, ie the space that we will now take care to maintain, protect, monitor, and here I want to broad recognition of the Navy of Mexico , who assumes this task , this responsibility , like the Mexican Army.
2.- Financial compensation for fishermen who did their productive activity in the defined area. I want recognize and applaud the participation of fishermen from all locations in this part of the Upper Gulf of California, for their commitment to this task, which is care for and preserve our environment and care for the vaquita.
3.- Strengthening inspection and surveillance in the region, which will be possible, thanks to the acquisition of new vessels of the Armed Forces and the Navy.
4.- Encouraging more friendly fishing methods, sustainables, respectful with the environment and is in full commitment of those who are engaged in fishing to make it a sustainable activity ; ie , an activity that does not jeopardize or alter the environmental order and, above all , a threat to the commitment that Mexico has taken to protect the environment.
